They are also capable of traveling over water without the need for a specialized dock or landing area. However, air cushion vehicles can be difficult to control in high winds or waves, and they are not as fuel efficient as other types of vehicles. In addition to their practical uses, air cushion vehicles have also been used in sports and racing events. Hovercraft racing involves competing in a course that includes both land and water sections, and requires skill and precision to navigate the vehicle through tight turns and obstacles.
